New Look Menswear SS12
Press ReleaseLandmark International February 15, 2012
This season, New Look menswear has taken a bold, confident step forward with its use of colours, prints and fabrics. Drawing inspiration from classic movies such as Point Break and Rebel Without a Cause combined with influence from the style of the iconic 1990's British music scene; this new collection is fresh, edgy and authentic.
Classic 1950's American style is heavily referenced with the use of retro resort prints, colour block chinos, yarn tee's and pastel oxford shirts. Effortlessly stylish, with a hint of '50s movie star, James Dean, the silhouette for this trend is clean, tapered and instantly cool.
For a sports luxe look, colour-block jersey is worn with lightweight panelled nylon jackets and high tops to give an urban twist. With the 2012 Olympics fast approaching, sportswear looks set to be a major influence, giving an edge to tailored silhouettes and directing the mood for outerwear this season.
The Navajo region is revisited and refreshed with sun drenched colours, pops of neon and new stand out prints. Teamed with denim for a more laid back aesthetic; straw hats, espadrilles and casual jersey basics are also introduced to emphasise this easy going vintage vibe.
This season it's all about having confidence with colour and daring to be bold with vintage inspired prints and 1950's influenced silhouettes. The new menswear collection for spring/summer offers a smarter aesthetic in terms of shapes and cuts with design, quality and originality at its core.
