What were you doing before joining Landmark?
Before joining Landmark, I worked for a large garment-export company based in Chennai. During a visit to Dubai, I was given the opportunity to join Splash; the product remained the same, but it was a switch from manufacturing to retailing. I chose to make the change and join Landmark and I've never looked back since.

Why did you join Landmark?
I was drawn to Landmark's simple, straightforward approach to business, and its clear business intent and ideals. I knew I could learn from the company and its people.
Landmark had achieved an established market position. It had built on the success of a few strong brands and was looking to grow. This appealed to me and was the main reason I decided to join the team.

What does your current job involve?
My job is to ensure that we have the best people in the business with the greatest motivation to succeed.
Now, after a decade and a half in the company, I take responsibility for the performance of the Central Region of Saudi Arabia. As the COO, I'm responsible for our profits, as well as the wellbeing and happiness of every employee.
I work to ensure that the Group's brands and stores succeed through seamless service, unmatched convenience and the guarantee of a superior shopping experience that the competition would find almost impossible to replicate.

What has been your best moment at Landmark so far?
I'm a great believer in people, and success to me needs to be collective above everything else -- it's everybody or nobody.
During my time with Landmark, there have been many occasions for celebration. Our business in Saudi Arabia has grown rapidly, meaning lots of new people have joined the company, our stores have touched every city and town in the country and our sales achievements speak for themselves.
However, my best moment at Landmark so far has been seeing happy people and witnessing their commitment to Landmark every day. I'm proud that we've attracted the highest-quality talent across multiple disciplines and retained them for a number of years. Each time I come into contact with my wonderful team, it's a great moment and I feel lucky that I have those moments day after day.

What is unique about Landmark?
The ability of the Landmark Group to reach out to all its employees and make them feel that they are a part of our success is unique in my view, and has perhaps been the biggest factor in its spectacular success.
